Mysuru: “Journalists should have investigating and reasoning ability behind every article they write which we do not find these days”, said retired Karnataka HC Judge K.L. Manjunath.
Speaking at Press Day held in Mysuru, he said, literature should be given prominence in the articles as it was given in the past but present Journalism is somewhere misleading.

Any news or article should improve the knowledge of readers. Present colleges don’t have proper infrastructure to give quality education he opined.

He touched upon the farmers suicide issue in his speech and said that even Journalists should contribute their time and knowledge to enlighten the farmers. Meetings should be conducted among them in every village and make them have a positive attitude towards life.

Newspapers have become courts now a days and they just publish the news just to gain publicity and TRP. They should stop glorifying news, which don’t have value, unnecessarily , Said Prof. K.S. Rangappa, Vice-Chancellor, University of Mysore at the function.
