Mysuru: Not able to wash your car on a regular basis? Worried about the water bill and the wastage of water? These guys can wash your car with just three litres of water and provide service at your doorstep!
Meet a group of young masters graduates from Germany who have been going around creating awareness about the conservation of water through “Clean Our Car”-a doorstep car wash and car detailing service startup.
Usually, a car wash can take anywhere from 150 to 180 litres of water. These youngsters however, wash cars with just three to five litres of water (for big vehicles) per wash, saving hundreds of litres of water in the process and their services cost from Rs 300 to Rs 400 per car.
The team consisting of Chetan Somashekar, Sachin Shrikant, Vikas Raj, Sharada Prasad and Ganesh Prasad, co-founders of the startup, have managed to save around 40,000 litres of water over the last three months.
The youngsters come from different backgrounds but their desire to start their own venture is what brought them together.
Chetan said, “During our stay in Europe, we were exposed to new technologies and we also had the opportunity to gain hands-on experience. This gave us the confidence to start our own venture.” He also said that they felt that many of the simpler problems in India could be solved in a smart way and to that end, this venture of theirs was the first step. “The startup ecosystem here is picking up which is a big boost for us. With Mysuru growing as a Tier-II city, we see a huge potential and market for our service in Mysuru. We have noticed that there is awareness among Mysureans not to waste water and this helps us promote our service, which is why we decided to start in Mysuru”, he said.
Every private car owner in Mysore being their potential customer, the team is eager to serve the people who are concerned about conserving water for the future and at the same time, ensures cleanliness in every aspect. “We are aiming to serve customers in apartments, IT companies, malls and public gatherings in the immediate future. We are coming up with a mobile app to ensure better customer support. In the coming months, we are looking to expand to other cities. We are receiving great support from Mysore and we are expecting the same from others as well”, added Chetan.
