Kagodu and Pratap Simha join BJP and Cong mudslinging brigade!

Mysuru: The war of words between state Congress and opposition BJP leaders continued with Mysuru MP Pratap Simha in Mysuru and Revenue Minister Kagodu Thimmappa in Bengaluru joining the fray on February 22.

Each one defended their government policies and leaders. While Pratap Simha defended Yeddyurappa for his rule, Kagodu rebuked him by saying “Burude Shankara (liar)”. Ever since Yeddyurappa made a strong statement of sending corrupt Congress ministers to jail within 48 hours of assuming power, both party leaders have been busy trading charges, including the man at the helm, state Chief Minister Siddaramaiah. The issue went a bit further when state Congress Working President Dinesh Gundu Rao reacted strongly against Yeddyurappa and spelt out plans of organising Satyameva Jayate (Truth alone triumphs), a ruling party sponsored programme at Freedom Park in Bengaluru.

Reacting against it, BJP MP Pratap Simha said, “The truth will reveal itself in 2018 elections” and went onto recollect the rule of former chief minister Gundu Rao, father of present state Congress working president. Congress then was filled with rowdies, accused Pratap Simha.

Dinesh Gundu Rao was dropped from the state ministry as he had not done anything significant during his tenure as minister, Pratap Simha contended.

However, leaders are busy trading charges against each other to cover one’s mistakes and are busy defending their respective leaderships violating the etiquette of public life. Every new statement emerging from their mouths is generating more dust, vitiating the atmosphere further.

For now, in state politics, “offence is the best form of defence!”
