Mysuru: MLA Sa Ra Mahesh has attacked the state government for transferring Deputy Commissioner B Sharath even before he could complete one month in the post in the district.
Addressing a news conference, he said that he condemns such a move of the state government.
“A Kannadiga, dalit officer has been transferred within 29 days of his appointment to make way for a lady officer from Andhra Pradesh,” he said adding that it is for the first time in the history of the district that the DC, who is also the Dasara Special Officer has been transferred in such a haste.
“Never in the past was a DC, who is also the Dasara special officer transferred when the world famous celebration is merely a few days away. When a DC is transferred, it poses a lot of administration issues. Over the last 29 days, no bills were cleared. DC Sharat was due to sign the bills after following certain procedures. Even before all that could be completed, he has been transfered,” he said.
Several organisations, including Bovi Abhivruddhi Mandali too has opposed the tranfer of the DC.
B Sharat has been replaced by IAS officer Rohini Sindhuri, who has assumed charge on Tuesday.
