Mysuru: In the wake of alarming increase in the number of assault and rape cases on women, the Bengaluru police will soon be launching an app, DG & IGP Om Prakash said.
After launching the first Kannada law monthly paper and diary ‘Law Guide’, he said that the police department decided to come up with an app pertaining to the safety of women as assault cases against women are on the rise. Women can register their grievances through the app. Speaking further, he said that the numbers of crime cases in the state are less compared to others. Regardless of how hard the police work, the public can never be satisfied. However, the police must work with utmost patience.He said that women are bravely coming forward to file complaints after certain changes were made to the IPC Sections under which the rape and assault cases are dealt with.
