Mysuru: Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation Managing Director Rajendra Kumar Kataria has issued suspension orders to five KSRTC staff members belonging to Chamarajangar KSRTC depot for dereliction of duty. This move comes close on the heels of Rs 28 lakh being stolen from the depot recently.
GB Manjunath, Divisional Traffic Officer, Chamarajanagar KSRTC Depot said “Based on report submitted by authorities, Rajendra Kataria, the MD of KSRTC suspended the staff members who were on duty on the fateful day. The suspended employees are Mahadeva Swamy, depot manager, Shivaprasad, accounts supervisor, Shrikanth, cashier and two security personnel Mahesh and Santhosh. The cash was stolen from the vault. During the preliminary investigation by the officials, it came to light that the theft was possible due to negligent attitude of the said employees. Even the security personnel failed to deliver their duty efficiently.”
It can be brought to light that on October 17, Rs 28 lakh was stolen from the Chamarajanagar KSRTC depot and within four days of the crime, the alert Chamarajanagar police arrested all the four accused who were involved in the crime.
