Mysuru: Chief Minister Siddaramaiah lashed out at Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, who claimed that Karnataka’s Congress government would collapse after general elections.

Speaking to reporters here at the Mysuru airport, Siddaramaiah said that instead of talking about our government, let them first save their government.

He also clarified that there is no infighting in the party. If that was the case, we would not have been able to work together in the Lok Sabha elections.

He was responding to the statement made by the BJP leaders that the government would fall due to fight within the Congress party, he said that they are making a political statement.

‘The atmosphere of the Parishad elections is good and this time the Congress party has taken the election seriously. For that reason the candidates were selected six months in advance. He said that the candidates got time and got an opportunity to meet the voters.

Responding to the question whether the alliance will affect the election, he said that the JDS had formed an alliance with BJP in the Lok Sabha elections as well, and it will not have any effect.

Reacting to a question if Prajwal Revanna pen drive case will affect the elections, the CM said that the voters from the graduates and teacher’s constituencies are politically mature, they are aware of what is right and wrong. He said that they have the ability to compare the achievements of the central government and the achievements of our government.

Talking about campaigning for elections in other states, he said that he has received an invitation to campaign.

Talking about former Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy’s statement that he has a pen drive about corruption and that if the government has the power to investigate, he will release it, the CM  said that Kumaraswamy’s is always a hit and run case.
