Lions Club International Foundation (LCIF) Chairperson Patti Hill announced on Friday that the foundation is extending its grants and humanitarian services to over 200 countries worldwide. Since its establishment in 1968, LCIF has contributed $1.2 billion to support various humanitarian causes, including disaster relief during events like flooding.

Hill highlighted LCIF’s broad scope of support, which includes quality healthcare, diabetes awareness, cancer treatment funding, cataract surgeries, eye care, and environmental protection initiatives. She noted that the foundation has recently allocated $50,000 to Lions International District 317 G, which encompasses Mysuru, Mandya, and Chamarajanagar districts. This grant will fund cataract surgeries at the eye hospital in Siddarthanagar and support other activities for 2024-25.

LCIF area leader and Southern India chief, Lion K Vamsidhar Babu, reported that the foundation collects $60 to $70 million annually from its 200 member countries. Lions International District 317 G President for 2024-25, M Subramanya, emphasized efforts to expand membership and establish more Lions Clubs in Chamarajanagar to enhance local development and support.

The ongoing commitment of LCIF to global humanitarian aid continues to create significant impacts, fostering better health, environmental sustainability, and community support around the world.
