Mysuru: An M.Tech pass out became the latest victim of suspected dowry harassment after she was found dead allegedly due to assault by her husband.
Tejaswini, wife of Raghavendra, resident of Rangayyana Koppalu is the deceased.
Despite being a post graduate, Tejaswini preferred an agriculturist as her groom in marriage and eventually married Raghavendra, a farmer only one year ago. Tejaswini’s father, Vice president of a Gram Panchayat in H D Kote taluk incurred Rs 20 lakhs towards her marriage, it is gathered.
Unfortunately Tejaswini’s husband started pestering her to ask her father to buy him a car. He soon started assaulting her. On Thursday, he called his in-laws to inform that their daughter has been admitted to a private hospital after she slipped and fell inside the bathroom.
When parents rushed, they found their daughter Tejaswini dead and son-in-law Raghavendra missing. Grief-stricken parents of the deceased woman alleged that their son-in-law who carries lot of political clout had killed Tejaswini.
A case has been registered at Vijayanagar police station in connection with the incident.
