CM’s Madikeri stay: Kannadiga staff members sent on leave?

Madikeri: Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy is in Coorg’s Ibbani Resort with his wife Anita Kumaraswamy and son Nikhil. The family arrived at the resort on Friday evening.

Though his visit was kept a secret, a specific move of the CM had now irked many.

If sources at the resort are to be believed then all the eight Kannada speaking employees of the resort were given leave for three days and staff from Northern part of India have been deputed, specifically keeping the CM’s stay in mind.

This has not gone down well with many, who have questioned why the CM has no faith in his own people.

As many as five rooms in the resort have been booked for the CM by Minister for tourism and Kodagu district in-charge minister SaRa Mahesh, who too will be staying with the CM.

Several rules have been imposed in the resort because of the CM’s stay. It is said that the staff are prohibited from using their mobile phones and no outsider will be allowed to enter the resort during the CM’s stay here.

Though these rules are a part of the protocol, a new rule of Kannadigas being sent out of their workplace, which has no mention in the protocol has left eyebrows raised.

The CM had recently returned from Muloor in Udupi district after completing naturopathy treatment. His resort stays too are being criticized by many, especially around the time the state is reeling under drought.
