Madikeri: Karnataka Silk Marketing Board chairman and Congress leader T.P. Ramesh is likely to face suspension after his uncalled act of trying to hold his woman colleagues hand at a public event here was caught on camera.

Speaking to reporters here on Monday Kodagu district in-charge minister M.R. Seetharam said that the issue was brought to the notice of KPCC president G. Parameshwara and working president Dinesh Gundu Rao and action would be initiated against Ramesh.

It may be recalled that T P Ramesh had during a public meeting held last week in Kodagu tried to hold the hand of MLC Veena Achaiah who was seated next to him on the dais. A visibly uncomfortable Achaiah appears to be politely telling the fellow Congressman sitting beside her to “mind himself” in the meeting presided over by District In-charge Minister M R Seetharam.

Reacting on the incident, an embarrassed Veena Achaiah said it was uncalled for one to behave in such a manner in public. “We work together as party members and it is important to respect women folk”, she added.
