Madikeri: The CBI issued a summons to Congress leader and former state minister K J George in connection with the death of DySP M K Ganapathy. CBI officers issued the summons to K J George personally at the Vidhana Soudha.
It can be recalled that, recently, the Special Public Representatives’ Courts rejected the CBI’s B-Report in connection with the case.
DySP Ganapathy’s body was found hanging at Vinayaka Lodge in room number 315 in Madikeri on July 7, 2016. Before his death, the DySP had made references to harassment from former minister Mr K J George and two senior police officers Pranab Mohanthy and A M Prasad during an interview with a television channel.
In September 2017, the Apex Court had ordered a CBI probe in the case and the later, after probing the case, had submitted a B-Report giving clean-chit to George and the two IPS officers.
The case is being probed by the CBI once again after Nihal, son of Ganapathy moved the Court stating that despite evidence for abetment to suicide, the CBI filed a B Report.
The hearing has been postponed to September 28.
