Madikeri: FM Khan a former Rajya Sabha member and Congress party treasurer passed away on Thursday, July 21 in Madikeri after prolonged illness.

He was 84 and was a close confidant of the former state chief minister R Gundu Rao. He stayed away from politics during the last two years due to illness.

The annual flower shows organized at his Balayatrie estate near Boikeri on Mysuru-Madikeri road were a big hit. Every year flower shows were organized at his estate or at Raja Seat in Madikeri for public which drew huge crowds.

Khan had organised flower shows in New Delhi when he was the MP and came under lavish praise from the parliamentarians and flower lovers in the past. He was inspired by his father and had managed around 80 varieties of flowers though he felt rearing flowers was an arduous task.
