Madikeri: Kodava movie “Telang Neer” will be released at the Kaveri Kalashetra auditorium (Town Hall) on January 15.
The movie story revolves round the life of an Indian army soldier after retirement and unfolds all incidents in his life, like starting his life all over again from scratch and innumerable difficulties encountered thereafter. The movie has won audience world wide as it shows the modern living style and its effect on local agriculture, environment and culture threadbare, according to the movie director Gopi Peenya.
The movie received the best Karnataka regional language film award from the state government for the year 2015. The movie was shown to audience in US in two international film festivals. The movie was chosen in four categories at the London Portsmouth film festival and competed with other contemporary movies from across the world.
The movie will be shown first at the Kaveri Kalshetra auditorium (Town hall) at 10.30 are in the morning of January 15. Dignitaries from Kodagu have been invited for the first show and are asked to express their opinion. Subsequently the movie can be seen by film goers twice daily at 10.30 am in the morning at 7 pm in the evening on all days of January 15 -21, according to information provided by the film team.
