KSRTC drivers killed in head-on collision between buses near Suntikoppa

Suntikoppa: Two drivers of Karnataka State road Transport corporation ( KSRTC) died and several others passengers suffered injuries in a head-on collision between two state owned buses here on February 8.

Palaksha (42), at the wheels of Hassan bound bus and Moideen Sharif (50) driving in the opposite direction towards Madikeri died on the way to the hospital. Bus conductor Mallappa, passengers named Annaiah from Nandinathpura, Ramesh and Nagesh from Mysuru city, Shivananda and Narayanaswany from Kudige, Zahara, Ravi, Kavitha , Harish, Dheemanthraj, Kaveri , Ponnamma , all residents of Kushalnagar suffered injuries in the mishap.

All the injured were rushed to district hospital in Madikeri and a nearby primary health care centre in Suntikoppa soon after the accident. Unfortunately, both the drivers succumbed to injuries on the way to the hospital.

Kodagu Deputy Commissioner visited the district hospital to console the affected and gathered information related to the accident.

Suntikoppa Police have registered a case into the incident.
