Madikeri: Members of Karnataka Government Legislative Council Assurance committee will be visiting areas around Harangi dam to find a lasting solution to the problems faced due to extreme damp conditions by hamlets tucked into Harangi dam backwaters.
The committee will hold discussion with officials of water resources department, Kaveri Neeravari Nigam and revenue department at Dubare jungle lodges resort at 8.30 am on January 17 and collect all details pertaining to the problems.
Around 9 am the team will visit Janradhanahalli, Magadihalli, Mavinahalli, Hippagalale and Honnekody hamlets in Somwarpet taluk to inspect areas affected by the storage of dam water.
Later in the afternoon at 3pm the team will visit the Harangi dam project area, the official notification said.
