Madikeri: “Kodava language movies should be encouraged and this needs everybody’s co-operation. It is indeed a proud moment for all the Kodavas that the new release ‘Kodagar Sipai’ is doing well in all theatres across the state and I wish that a greater number of Kodava movies get released,” said president of the Kodava Federation Kallichanda Vishnu Cariappa.
He was addressing the gathering during a programme organised in connection with the release of “Kodagar Sipai”, on Tuesday, October 29.
Virajpet Kodava community president Vanchetira Nannaiah said, “The Kodava movie industry, which began its journey with ‘Naa Puttna Mann’, has now released its 13th movie ‘Kodagar Sipai’. I’m very happy that the movie has completed 50 successful shows in theatres and has also been selected for an international film festival.”
Actor/producer of the movie Bollagira Ayyappa presented a few details about the movie.
He said that the movie would be screened at T Shettigeri Kodava Samaj on November 1 and Murnadu Kodava Samaj on November 5.
Actor Biddanda Uttam Ponnappa, ‘Kodagar Sipai’ novelist Uluvangad Kaveri Uday and others were present.
‘Kodagar Sipai’ is based on a novel of the same name, released under Coorg Coffeewood Movies banner and directed and produced by Prakash Cariappa.
