Madikeri: The Kodagu district administration has clamped section 144 in the district from 6 am on November 9 to 6 pm on November 11, to avert any untoward incidents during Tipu Jayanthi celebrations.
According to the prohibitory measures, except government programmes, wedding, engagements, and other family functions, no processions and other programmes will be allowed. Events which leave room for making provocative speeches, protests, rallies and shouting slogans, showing display materials have been banned. Possessing arms and weapons (barring security personnel) has been prohibited. People cannot be moving in a group of more than five during the said period, said a communication from the district administration.
