Madikeri: The SSLC results have been announced and Kodagu district has come down to 22nd place in the state. The district was in 18th place last year.
Jagruthi Subbaiah, student of Lions High School, Kalathmad, Gonikoppal and Shraavani, student of St. Josephs School, Somwarpet secured the first place in the district with 616 marks.
Kodagu district has secured 78.81 percent result this year. The last year’s passing percentage was 80.68. The passing percentage of Kannada medium students is 69.26 and that of English medium is 89.05. Taluk wise, Virajpet has secured 84.64 percent, Madikeri 73.58 percent and Somwarpet 68.12 percent.
Twenty schools in the district have achieved 100 percent results, out of which 7 are government, 3 affiliated and 10 non-affiliated schools.

The results might have come down due to the holidays during last year’s natural calamities in the district, opines Machado, District Deputy Director of Education Department.
