Mysuru: In a tragic incident, a man pushed his two kids into a lake and then killed himself, at H D Kote on Monday.
Believe it or not, the locals say that some earthen pots, vermilion, lemons and voodoo dolls were seen outside the residence of Raju (38) at Dadahallikere on Sunday. The scenes strongly hinted at the possibilities of someone having practiced black magic on Sunday, which was new moon day.
Even as neighbours and locals advised Raju not to touch those commodities with hands, Raju brushed aside the same billing it as superstition and cleaned the mess with his own hands, only to end up looking hypnotized and mentally disturbed.
On Monday morning, Raju, who remained acting like a lunatic whole of Sunday, took his two kids Sphoorthi (9) and Srijan (4) to a lake nearby on the pretext of cleaning the scooter.
On the way a petrified Srijan managed to escape his father’s clutches, but unfortunately Sphoorthi, who remained by her father’s side is feared dead.
Raju first pushed her into the lake and then jumped into the deep water.
Raju was working as a mason.
The villagers are in a state of shock and fear after the incident. The fire personnel are fishing for the dead body of the father and daughter.
Case has been registered.
