Mysuru: A man who slit his wife’s throat and killed her suspecting fidelity was eventually nabbed by the police on July 12 within 15 minutes of the murder.
The victim has been identified as Lakshmi (35) and the incident took place in the Tiger Block of H D Kote town.
Lakshmi, a resident of Agattur in H D Kote Taluk married Nagaraju few years ago and landed back at her native village after her husband pushed her there suspecting her fidelity. After one-and-a-half year gap, Nagaraju surfaced at his in-laws’ residence at 11.30 am today. He picked up a fight with his wife and slit her throat in a fit of rage and killed her.
He attempted to flee the spot by hoodwinking people around but police succeeded in nabbing him within 15 minutes of the incident.
Police are investigating further after registering a case.
Life sentence for another in a similar case
The II District Sessions Court judge sentenced to life another man for killing his wife suspecting her fidelity 3 years ago. In this case, the accused Vishwamurthy (42) of Hirekati village had strangled his wife Saraswathi to death in 2014 after 12 years of married life.
Nanjangud rural police had filed a case into the incident and submitted evidence to the court.
The court, after hearing the arguments, finally handed over life-sentence to the accused on finding him guilty in the murder case.
