Mandya: The love that people of Mandya have placed on actor-turned-politician late Ambareesh is known to all.
Now, taking this love to the next level, fans of Ambareesh have built a shrine in his honour, at the Hittegowdanadoddi village in the Maddur taluk.
The shrine will be inaugurated on the actor’s second death anniversary, i.e. on November 24.
A bronze idol of Ambi, as he was fondly called, has been installed inside the shrine, which has been built at a cost of Rs 8 lakhs.
As per sources, the fans have planted the ashes from Ambareesh’s funeral pyre at the place where his idol has been installed.
Before placing the ashes at its current resting place, the fans had offered prayers to the ashes for about one year.
The statue will be unveiled by none other than Ambreesh’s wife and Mandya MP Sumalatha.
Ambareesh, who made his way into the hearts of the people through his acting skills and his humane nature, was born on May 29, 1952, in Doddarasinakere of Mandya.
