Bullock sold for record Rs. 7.68 lakh in Mandya

Mandya: A bullock in Palahalli in Srirangapattana Taluk in the District has been sold for a whopping Rs. 7.68 lakh, recently.

The bullock owned by Vinod of the village is of the Hallikar breed. He bought the bullock for Rs. 4.5 lakh just two years ago. The bullock participated in 80 running races of which it won 70 races by securing first, second and third prizes. Vinod said that he raised bullock like a son of the house and sold it to Manjunath, a native of Tegur Village in Chikkamagaluru District.

Hallikar breed is identified as endangered species and known for its hardwork. This rare breed can be seen in Mysuru, Mandya, Chikkamagaluru, Hassan and Tumakuru Districts.
