Mandya: Accusing the chief minister for booking cases against protesting farmers from the district during agitation on Cauvery issue, BJP leader from Mandya filed a complaint against the chief minister in the city west police station.
In his complaint BJP leader Siddaraju has asked the police to take action against the chief minister as per law.
Accusing the chief minister of going back on assurances the BJP leader said, farmers believing in his words after planting paddy saplings are left high and dry as the chief minister went ahead releasing Cauvery water to Tamilnadu ignoring their interests.
He said farmers must be paid tenfold in terms of their investment in agriculture and also demanded withdrawal of cases against all farmers involved in the agitation.
He also said, the government which holds ordinary citizens responsible for loss of public property and damages must also take responsibility when farmers incur losses due to bad decisions of the government,
Taking this into account, case was filed against the state chief minister, he clarified.
