Mandya: In a gory incident, five of the same family were killed by miscreants on the night of Saturday February 5 at Bajar line in KRS Village of the District.
The deceased have been identified as Lakshmi (30), her children Raj (12) Komal (7) and Kunal (5) and her cousin’s son Govind (12). It is said that Lakshmi’s husband Gangaram and his brother were staying together in the same house with families. Gangaram and his brother were street vendors of plastic decorative items and visited cities and fairs to sell things coming home once in 15 to 20 days.
The incident occured when both the brothers had gone to Tamilnadu for business. It is said that miscreants chopped all the five with lethal weapons and looted cash and jewellery from home. It is suspected that miscreants killed children as they might identify them. Southern Range IGP Praveen Madhukar Pawar, and SP N. Yethish visited the spot. The canine squad and finger print experts were pressed into service. Police has formed a special team to nab culprits. KRS police has registered a case.
