JDS activists start campaign against Darshan, Yash for supporting Sumalatha

Mandya: Sumalatha, wife actor-turned-politician late MH Ambareesh has stood firm on her decision to contest polls from Mandya. The decision had left the JDS and Devegowda family jittery because JDS Supremo HD Devegowda had set the stage in Mandya for the political debut of his grandson and third generation of the Gowda clan Nikhil Kumaraswamy.

While the Congress turned its back on Sumalatha, despite Ambareesh having been a Congress loyal, Sumalath decided to go ahead with her plan and contest as an independent candidate. A few superstars from the Sandalwood fraternity stood by the lady and now it is learnt that the JDS activists, who are irked by the same have started a campaign against the Sandalwood superstars who have decided to support Sumalatha.

If sources are to be believed, then a campaign has been kick-started against Challenging Star Darshan and Yash.
A massive JDS rally has been scheduled in Mandya on March 14 and it is said that Devegowda will officially announce Nikhil as the party’s candidate from Mandya.

Sumalatha too will be campaigning for herself at Melukote, along with her son Abhishekh on the same day. The JDS members have thus planned the ‘Go Back’ campaign for Yash and Darshan so that the stars keep a distance from the political episodes unfurling in Mandya.

The JDS members have told the superstars that they can contest as candidates from any party or as independent candidates, but they will not be accepted campaigning for Sumalatha.

Meanwhile, Sumalatha’s son Abhishekh has put up an emotional post on FB explaining all the reasons why Sumalatha decided to contest polls, knowing fully well that she would be criticized by many.

“It is love for the people from Mandya and their love for Ambareesh,” he said in the post.
