Mandya: With the voting date nearing, Mandya politics is turning uglier. On Sunday, April 7 night, three JDS activists sustained minor injuries following a clash with Sumalatha’s supporters in Gurudevarahalli near K M Doddi.
According to police sources, the incident happened when hundreds of villagers were waiting for Sumalatha to campaign in the village. At that time, three JDS activists, who were riding on a bike, blew the horn continuously. Sumalatha’s supporters objected to the same and soon, a brawl broke out. It has been alleged that Sumalatha’s supporters assaulted the three JDS activists.
Immediately, locals rushed the injured to the K M Doddi government hospital. As the news spread, Mandya alliance candidate Nikhil Kumaraswamy rushed to the hospital and inquired about the well being of his supporters.
