Mandya: Soon after Mandya Zilla Raitha Hitharakshana Samiti gave a bandh call in Mandya on Tuesday, the district administration declared a holiday for all schools and educational institutions across the district.
Sources at the district administration also informed that Krishnaraja Sagar (KRS) reservoir and Brindavan Gardens will be closed as well. Deputy Commissioner of Mandya S. Ziyaulla has banned entry of tourists to the KRS reservoir and the historical Brindavan Gardens in its downstream from Tuesday to Friday, September 9.
As many as 2,400 police personnel are deployed by the home department to maintain law and order in the area.
