Mandya: Child protection officials rescued a minor girl student and sent her to child care home on Thursday March 31.
It is said that the parents of 16-year-old SSLC student conducted marriage secretly at their residence on March 27 with a boy from KR Pete despite opposition from the girl. Before that officials visited their residence on March 18 and 25 after getting information about marriage. However, the parents conducted marriage by inviting handful of relatives. The parents sent her to write examination by removing mangalasutra and toe rings.
On March 30 she revealed about her marriage with a friend at examination centre, who alerted the officials. The officials filed a police complaint against parents, and have sent the girl to children’s home.
