Mandya: The Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha (KRRS) members on Tuesday August 16 staged a protest against alleged corruption at Mandya sub-registrar’s office.
Speaking to mediapersons during protest, the farmers alleged that they are fed up with rampant corruption at sub-registrar’s office. They said farmers visiting sub-registrar’s office to get encumbrance certificates and other records to avail loans from banks but the computer operators at the office demanding are Rs. 300 bribe for application. They alleged if they do not give bribe, the work can’t be done even after a week.
Deputy Registrar Rukmini clarified that we are not demanding any bribe from public. Even we have put up board to meet the officer directly and don’t give work or money to brokers. She said brokers and middle men are collecting money from people saying their name. The farmers have given a verbal complaint to Deputy Registrar Rukmini urging to take appropriate action against the computer operators.
