Mandya: A dinner was organised for the fans and supporters of Minister Narayana Gowda at Lakshmi Venkateswara Community Hall at Akkihebbal Village in Krishnarajpete Taluk of the District.
Speaking on the occasion, Narayana Gowda said, “It has been 20 years since I lost my parents. The people of the Taluk are my parents,” he said. “I took my parents to Mumbai and was happy there as a businessman. However, my mother took a oath that she will not forget the place where she was born. Therefore, I started working as a social worker in Krishnarajapete Taluk, he said.
“Is it possible to do politics washing glasses in a hotel?,” I was told once. Motivated by this harsh words, he came into politics even though I was not interested in politics. With your blessings, you voters have elected me as an MLA for three consecutive terms and helped me become a Minister. This I cannot forget ever in my life, he said.
