Mandya: Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Congress, said on Friday October 7 that there were no intention to make Hindi the only national language of the country, threatening the identity of regional languages like Kannada. Priyank Kharge, a senior leader of the party and a former minister who also oversees the State Media Cell for the Congress, was describing to reporters Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra and his interactions with teachers and representatives of many educational institutions.
“Rahul Gandhi and I discussed Kannada’s identity. He continued by saying that everyone’s mother tongue is important. We respect every language. According to the Constitution, everyone has a right,” said Kharge.
Rahul Gandhi made it clear that there was no desire to make Hindi the only official language, threatening the identity of your language (Kannada), he said.
According to Kharge, individuals who took part in the discussions confirmed that they were not connected with the Congress party and that they were taking part in the yatra to save the Constitution, which must begin in the schools.
