Maddur: With elections round the corner, politicians are busy attempting every trick up their sleeve too woo voters .
In one such attempt, MLA Cheluvarayaswamy is busy taking part in ground breaking ceremonies within his constituency to prepare the platform for his victory in the forthcoming elections. The only difference this time being, the activities related to development are being performed at night!
Political opponents have classified his actions as political gimmick .Undeterred by the criticism, Cheluvarayaswamy justified his action by relating them to rural development, during the ground breaking ceremony in D Malligere village at 10 PM of multiple development projects under Koppa division of his constituency.
People will ultimately decide the candidates’ fortunes and Janata Dal (S) is free to give tickets to anyone, Cheluvarayaswamy said, taking a swipe at state JDS President H D Kumaraswamy on the occasion.
“When we stayed with JDS, we were treated as poor and now after quitting, they classify us as rich,” said Cheluvarayaswamy. “I have nothing to do with JDS as I have already switched over to a different party and JDS as a party can manage debits and credits on its own and free to borrow too,” he ridiculed.
