Mandya: ‘Nikhil Yelliddiyappa’ has become immensely popular and several memes have surfaced on the social media platforms on this. However, Nikhil himself has commented on the tagline and has said that if ever a film is made with this title, he will play the lead.
Nikhil Kumarswamy, son of chief minister HD Kumarswamy and coalition candidate from Mandya said that he has garnered 40 years of experiences in just 45 days of campaigning in Mandya and that Nikhil Yelliddiyappa has contributed in a very big way to his popularity and his political journey.
During the launch of his debut film ‘Jaguar’ a couple words years ago, CM Kumaraswamy was seen calling out ‘Nikhil Yelliddiyappa'(Nikhil, where are you? ‘, to which Nikhil, seated amongst the crowd puts up his hand, signifying that the new star has come from the crowd.
However, the well planned video went viral only during Mandya polls with series of memes surfacing on the same.
Nikhil said that while his opponents tried to insult and humiliated him through the memes, it only added to his popularity.
Talking about the media, Nikhil said that they could work systematically, keeping eyes fixed on target only because of the constant reports of the media that he was trailing and lagging behind in Mandya.
