No pressure on children to consume eggs: Edu Minister Nagesh

Mandya: State Education Minister B. C. Nagesh said that no one has put pressure on children to consume eggs.

Speaking to mediapersons here on Saturday December 11 he said that eggs and bananas are being distributed in all schools. There is no pressure to consume anything. The Central Government has reported that children are suffering from malnutrition all over the State.”

Minister said, “It was decided that Children need to increase nutrition intake. Hence, the Government shortlisted eggs, bananas and other nutritious items. Once they are approved by the nutritionists, it will be distributed in the next few days.”

“Eggs and bananas are being distributed in order to protect children’s health,” he stressed.

He said many Gram Panchayats have come forward to open a Panchayat Public School. If there is no opposition from local villagers and Gram Panchayats, action will be soon taken to start schools at the panchayat level from the next academic year.
