Mandya: Sitting MP of the district, CS Puttaraju resigned over the verdict of the Supreme Court on Cauvery.

Puttaraju, the JD(S) Party MP for Mandya said that the Supreme Court is rubbing salt on the wounds of the farmers in Karnataka and that he can not continue as an MP under such circumstances.

Chief Minister of Karnataka, Siddaramaiah addressed the media and said that the final decision will be taken tomorrow. “We are going through a tough time, so I appeal to all the people of Karnataka to maintain peace. A meeting has been called for to decide the future course of the issue. An all party meeting has also been called for at 5 PM tomorrow in which we will decide on what to do”, he said.

The fresh verdict today has got the whole state on it’s toes as the protests have erupted in Mysuru, Bengaluru and Chamarajanagara. Vatal Nagraj has been arrested in the Karnataka-Tamil Nadu border city, Chamarajanagara for trying to cross the border of the state.

After the resignation of CS Puttaraju, Melukote MLA KS Puttannaiah and Madduru MLA Thammanna of JD(S) decide to resign too.
