Teacher says ‘I Love You’ to SSLC failed student, parents file complaint

Bengaluru: The Mandya East police registered a case against a high school teacher under the provisions of the POCSO act for allegedly harassing a student who failed in the recently announced SSLC examination results.

According to the police, Meghanath, a teacher working in a high school in the district is the accused. Police didn’t disclose other details as the case has been registered under the stringent POCSO act.

It is said that the teacher said ‘I Love You’ while consoling the student who lost two subjects.

Shocked by his love proposal, the students alerted her parents who in turn approached the police.

The accused teacher is absconding. Police launched an inquiry.
