Mysuru: A team of Mysuru City Corporation including Standing Committee President and officials raided Mall of Mysore on Friday, alleging that it had evaded taxes running into crores of rupees.
The Mall of Mysore, situated on MG Road, near Race Course became news after the MCC team led by City Standing Committee President Nandish Preetham raided the mall and asked the owners of the mall to pay off the dues running into Rs five crores, pending over last four years, within Friday evening, failing with the MCC would lock the mall. The team also identified that the Mall of Mysore had violated several rules and norms.
Sources said that thought the Mall owners had spoken of Multi-level parking in the plan, the Mall does not provide the same. Two of MCC’s notices have not evoked any response from the owners.
However, after the thunderbolt action of the MCC, a lukewarm response has come from the Municipal Commission Jagadish, who said that he is not aware of the raid and that he came to know of the same only after the media intimated about it.
