Mysuru: In a shocking incident, a lonely minor girl was allegedly raped by a railway ticket booking clerk at Mysuru Railway station.

The accused Kiran, working as a ticket booking clerk at Mysuru Railway lured the 13-year-old victim when he found her roaming alone on the railway platform. He assured her of marriage and later took her to the railway quarters where it is alleged, he repeatedly raped her. Kiran then abandoned her expressing his inability to get married to her, she being a minor.

The girl narrated the ordeal she went through at a child care centre based on which a complaint was lodged by Balamandir (Child care centre) Superintendent Kavitha at Mandi Police station. Prima facie evidence suggests rape by the accused and further investigation is in progress.
