Former minister and Chamundeshwari MLA GT Devegowda has urged authorities to propose the inclusion of Bogadi, Srirampura, Kadakola, and Rammanahalli town panchayats in the Swachh Bharat Mission-II project. These areas lack essential facilities following their recent upgrades.

Municipal Challenges Addressed

During a meeting with municipal council and town panchayat officials, concerns over issues such as underground drainage (UGD), drinking water problems, and insufficient cleaning funds were discussed. Government funding is crucial to tackle these issues, as highlighted by officials from the Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board and District Urban Development Cell.

Immediate Action

GT Devegowda promptly contacted the director of municipal administration to expedite the proposal submission. He emphasized the need for a detailed action plan to address infrastructure gaps in the identified town panchayats.

Fiscal Responsibility and Waste Management

Concerns over the release of collected taxes and funding shortages were raised, impacting development projects. The MLA directed authorities to resolve issues related to garbage collection and disposal promptly to maintain civic cleanliness.
