Mysuru: A wedding function went awry, as more than 40 people, including children fell sick after consuming food there, on Sunday night, March 31. The incident took place at Bherya village in K R Nagar taluk in Mysuru.
Reportedly, the children complained of vomiting and diarrhoea after consuming the food and even elders faced the same problem. Initially, the patients were treated at the taluk hospital and later shifted to K R Hospital in Mysuru, while 18 children were shifted to Cheluvamba Hospital. All those who were affected are out of danger.
Food poisoning or drinking polluted water could have been the cause for the sickness, say sources.
