Mysuru: Evil doers fear cops. But here in this police station, cops who are supposed to be spending a lot of their energy and time fighting the evil doers, thieves and rowdies, are now dreaded by a different kind of challengers-mosquitoes!
This station which falls under Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s constituency in Laxmipuram in Mysuru, are facing a severe mosquito menace and it has made it difficult for them to sit in work spaces every evening.
Several cops in this station have been treated for vector-borne diseases like dengue and malaria.
The poor cops have been burning neem leaves to keep the blood-sucking mosquitoes at bay. The plants grown around the station has made the situation even worse giving a habitat for mosquitoes.
Though the officers have urged the city corporation to clear the plants, there has been no response yet. The cops are temporarily depending upon neem leaves to protect themselves from the mosquitoes.
