Mysuru: In an incident that has often been seen in Bollywood flicks, a daredevil mother tracked down and got a truck driver hailing from Rajasthan arrested for allegedly abducting and raping her minor daughter.
The accused is identified as Ravi alias Rafique (21).
It is said that three days before the minor girl went missing, a truck driver had parked his vehicle near a tea stall run by the girl’s family.
The family had noticed that the driver was refusing trips to remain near the tea stall. Suspecting his behaviour, the girl’s mother had noted down his vehicle number.
As her daughter went missing, she registered a complaint at the NR Police station. When the complaint did not evoke the desired response, she decided to go all the way to Rajasthan to trace the driver as she was sure that her daughter was abducted by the same man.
As she was on her way, Ravi called her and threatened that he would kill her daughter if she came in his way. Refusing to budge down to the threats, the lady reached Lappala village in Rajasthan, where Ravi hails from.
The lady learnt that Ravi was already married. However, the predicaments for the lady was yet to begin because the local Panchayat head prevented her from initiating action against Ravi by making her enter into an agreement stating that she would smugly return to her native village on tracing her daughter.
On agreeing to this demand, the Panchayat Chief allowed her to stay in the village for four days.
It is said that on day four, the girl herself had called her mother and revealed about her location.
The NR police with the help of the local police, traced the phone number and found out that the girl was living in Ravi’s house. While the mother got her daughter back, the police arrested Ravi and got him to Msyuru.
The police booked a case of sexual assault against Ravi after trapping the girl. He had been remanded to judicial custody.
