A fatal accident on Sunday evening near the Pantharapalya-Nayandahalli metro station, Mysuru Road, Bengaluru, claimed the life of 25-year-old Kiran Kumar H.
The incident occurred around 6:10 PM when Kiran, riding a two-wheeler, was struck by a speeding petrol tanker traveling from Rajarajeshwari Nagar arch toward Nayandahalli. The victim, a Davanagere native and assistant director for a Kannada TV serial, was not wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Kiran sustained critical head injuries and was rushed to Victoria Hospital. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries in the ambulance, and doctors pronounced him dead at 7:50 PM.
The Byatarayanapura traffic police have filed a case against the tanker driver, Arvind Kumar Yadav, a 35-year-old resident of Mumbai. He has been charged under Sections 281 (rash driving on a public way) and 106 (causing death by negligence) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
This tragedy highlights the pressing need for stricter enforcement of road safety measures, including helmet usage and speed regulations, to prevent similar incidents in the future.
