Mounted police horse goes berserk due to noisy crackers

Mysuru: Due to busting of fire crackers, tamed and trained horse belonging to Mounted Police, attached to the KSRP went out of control at Police Bhavan here on Sunday.

A total of 55 KSRP cyclist who are on ‘Karnataka Darshana’ cycle jatha from Bidar to Bengaluru had reached Mysuru on Sunday and the Mysuru battalion of the KSRP had burst crackers to welcome the cyclists. The horses of the mounted police were present and one among nearly ten mounted horse was behaving differently from beginning of Karanji Lake. However, when crackers were burst it went berserk damaging vehicles parked nearby. After ten minutes the jockey managed to bring the horse under control.

Though media person advised the organizers not to burst the crackers as the cycle jatha also involves creating environment awareness, the officers who didn’t bother went ahead in bursting the crackers. The cyclist team was led by Bhasker Rao.
