MP Simha, MLA Ramdas, others detained by police in Mysuru

Mysuru: Several BJP leaders were detained by the police during the state-wide bundh called for by the BJP pressing for farm loan waiver by the state government, on Monday, May 28.

As many as 20 protesters including MP Prathap Simha, MLA S A Ramdas detained. The BJP members who were protesting at Sub urban bus stop tried to picket Banni Mantap depot. This is when the cops detained them.

Speaking during thr protest, the MP asked CM HD Kumaraswamy to explain what he means when he says he is not at the mercy of the voters.

“The CM says he is not at the mercy of tbe people, but at the mercy of the Congress. He also says that he has not come to power because people have voted for him. If such is the case, why is he sitting on the seat of the CM,” he quizzed and said that HDK has to stick to his poll promise of waiving off the farm loan.

The MP said that during election, HDK had promised to waive off loans within 24 hours of coming to power, but after assuming power he took a u-turn saying that loan waiver was promised only if his party got complete majority. “We as opposition will fight against this,” he said.

Meanwhile, Chamraj constituency BJP MLA Ngendra too was detained by the police.
