Mysuru: Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) transferred 19 layouts to Mysuru City Corporation for administration and provision of civic amenities.

In the first phase, among 78 layouts which are under MUDA, 19 layouts including three MUDA layouts and 16 private layouts were handed over to Mysuru City Corporation Commissioner Betsurmath in the presence of Deputy Commissioner C Shikha and Mayor Bhyrappa. Here, all these layouts come under the ambit of MCC who will provide all basic facilities including drinking water, drainage, street lights, solid waste management, drainage, park and even road.

M Mahesh, Commissioner, MUDA said, “There was delay in transferring these layouts because there are various procedures involved like layouts have to be inspected to know whether there is any pending work. In the first phase, we have handed over 19 layouts including three MUDA layouts. Next month, we are planning to hand over a few more layouts or even all the layouts. Once it is handed over, the corporation will be providing all the basic facilities to the people. Apart from providing these basic facilities, the corporation will also be collecting tax from these layouts and they will be the authority to approve further plans. Only the vacant CA site will be our property”.

He also mentioned that the last transfer of layouts from MUDA to the corporation took place in 2002 where they transferred 13 layouts all belonging to MUDA.
