Mysore Palace gets Majestic Splendor

Mysuru: The palace city is fully geared up for Dasara.  The historical Amba Vilasa palace, focal attraction of Dasara Utsav and thronged by countless tourists is beckoning all with its splendor.

Whenever one thinks of Mysore, the illuminated – Amba Vilasa palace with all its glory comes to fore.  None can match the palace that has been the artwork work master craftsmen and sculptors.  One wonders whether the heavenly bodies arrived in the palace city that will be illuminated to full capacity during Dasara Utsav.   

When one ponders over the history, the old palace was built during 1800 to 1804.  It was built with logwood and bricks as building materials, which was destroyed in an accidental fire. The rebuilding of palace resumed in 1911 and completed in 1912 at a cost of Rs 41,47,913.  The palace that is 74.50 meters length and 47.50 meters wide lies in 72 acres plot.  The main building of palace was constructed using strong and thick granite slabs of brown color.  The doom of five floors in the middle of the palace is coated with gold and is about 145 feet high.

Its indeed everyone has a distinct beauty to find in the palace.  Nevertheless, as the Dasara Utsav is approaching, the illuminated palace beckons the tourists as a bride ready to go to the altar.  The restoration work is under way as Dasara is fast approaching.  The historical palace has hi-tech security, while 118 CCTV cameras were installed in strategic points in the palace premises.  To conclude, the palace with its splendor indeed beckons tourists from all over the nation and overseas.
