Mysuru: Mystic and Isha Foundation Founder Sadguru Jaggi Vasudev has touched several lives with his fragrance of spirituality, but for the first time, he opened a window to his past as he spoke about his love for bikes.
Delivering a talk on ‘Inner Engineering- A Home Coming’, organised as part of centenary celebration of University of Mysore on Sunday, Jaggi Vasudev said, “During my colleges days, I used to perform stunts on bikes by riding it down the stairs at the open air theatre. It really feels great to present lecture where I used to perform those stunts on my favorite bike.”
“This is the place where my evaluation of rock and roll to classical music happened. During my school days I was not much inclined to academic but was active in other extracurricular activities. Among 2000 odd mango trees in the campus, the mangoes grown in the tree near Institute of Language that is inside the university was very tasty. When I was studying, near University of Mysore hotel I even caught cobra but when I was to put into my bag it escaped. Really I had all sort of experience in this campus. Nice to see the campus, which has now grown upto international standard,” he recalled.
Srikantaswamy, Professor of Environmental Science, UOM whose father Shivanna and Jaggi Vasudev’s father Dr Vasudev who was working as Physician at Mysuru Railway Hospital, who were very close friends said, “Jaggi Vasudev was very fond of bikes, even when my father used to take bike to their home Jaggi Vasudev used to take bike for a ride. Since his childhood he was also very fond of insects and used to keep them in match box and show it to his friends. His lecture today was awesome, the thoughts and his knowledge towards science is really great.”
