Mysuru: MLA L. Nagendra, who is seeking re-election as a BJP candidate from Chamaraja Constituency, which is one of the Assembly constituencies in District, is trying to convince the voters of the Brahmin community.

Vokkaligas are in large numbers in the Constituency and the candidates contesting from all the three parties are also Vokkaligas. Thus, the Vokkaliga votes will be divided and the votes given by voters of other communities will be crucial. So they are trying to attract all communities. In the meantime, MLA L. Nagendra held a meeting of Brahmin organisations at Brindavan Layout in Chamaraja Constituency and sought votes.

The meeting was attended by hundreds of Brahmin leaders from different localities including Ontikoppalu Vipra Vrinda, Brindavan Brahmin Balaga, Hebbal Vijayanagara Brahmin Sangha, Madhwa Group, Iyengar Vedike, Mulakanadu Sangha, ShankaraBalaga and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Karnataka State Brahmin Development Board Chairman Sachchidananda Murthy said that there are more than 25,000 Brahmins in Chamaraja Constituency. He appealed to all community leaders to support Nagendra to win the seat and urged to take a pledge to win the constituency by over 30,000 votes.
